“One of my earliest memories is of an afternoon spent playing in the sunlight as it fell upon a quilt that my great grandmother had made. As I traced the designs, I marveled how the patterns and colors twisted around each other in harmony. The joy I felt that day is what I try to recapture each time I paint.”
Two Videos by Sturdy Discussing the Framing of Works by Pop Artist Jim Dine
Sturdy reviews a new reframing project of pop art “Bathrobes A & B” by Jim Dine. He also provides insight into the artist’s approach to his work.
The serigraph by Jim Dine was originally framed by Sturdy and his team about 15 years ago. Now that the customer is redecorating her home, she’s having it reframed.
“New French Tools” by well known New York artist Jim Dine. 1984, edition of 50 plus proofs.
Numbered, signed and dated “16/50 Jim Dine 1984″ in pencil 1.1. Etching, aquatint, and power-tool abrasion on buff paper, frame size 47″ x 35”.
It’s one of many new acquisitions to our gallery, framed and ready for your home, office or for a gift.
Sturdy shares an interesting look at how gold leaf frames are made and how the beautiful luster and richness of gold works so well with virtually most types of art.
