It’s all about the story!

“With twelve years in the veterinary field and a lifetime of pet ownership, I have an intuitive approach towards my portraits. I understand the pet-human bond on a deeper level. It isn’t just about likeness; there’s a story to tell.”

Margi’s artwork has been exhibited both locally and nationally, in shows such as the CPSA International Exhibition as well as The International Exhibition on Animals In Art, hosted by LSU School of Veterinary Medicine. She has authored artist demonstrations for Ann Kullberg’s Colored Pencil Magazine, taught artist workshops, as well as provided artwork for various books such as Northlight Books’s STROKES OF GENIUS and publications such as JAVMA (the Journal for the American Veterinary Medical Association.).

Margi has three grown children, all artists. Her daughter, Meghan Hopkins Sokorai, a graphic designer and owner of And Here We Are, located in Brooklyn NY, created the Pepper Portrait logo as well as the website www.pepperportraits.com and all supporting material.

When Margi isn’t tromping through the park with her dogs, taking photographs or painting, she is a veterinary assistant for a local animal hospital and the staff portrait artist for Row House Gallery in Milford OH. She resides in Batavia Ohio with her husband, her two dogs and three cats.
