Margi Hopkins graduated from Denison University, Granville Ohio with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, specializing in Life Drawing and Printmaking.

She started Pepper Portraits in 2001 while working in a veterinary office, a natural place to promote her self  as a pet portrait artist.

These days Margi paints landscapes, people, wildlife, ocean, whatever allows her to explore composition, lighting and content.  She has built a reputation for her story telling and unusual color pencil technique which includes solvents with fabric surface. Her award winning art has been exhibited both locally and nationally, published in various art books and magazines and purchased from collectors all over the world.

Margi is a signature member of the Colored Pencil Society of America as well as an associate member of The Society of Animal Artists.
